Heh... 2 blog posts in 1 one day! On 8.8.08.... National Day Eve and Opening Ceremony of the Beijing Olympics. Double blessings indeed...
It's with a sense of apathy that I wrote this post. We have assembled a great BB soccer team over the years but recent news is we have 'lost' our Nanhua sch soccer field which we trained on and used for soccer friendlies. Over the years, our soccer team have matured and we have achieved modest success. There is no doubt that the enthusiasm in soccer also contributed to the great spirit in BB as well as makes BB life more interesting.
We had a soccer friendly held in Apr with a Choa Chu Kang class team. It started off pretty even, nevertheless our perseverance paid off and we started to threaten their goal. After our 1st goal, their goalie began to make uncharacteristic mistakes and we score 3. The opponent pull 1 back with a tremendous cracker from 25 yards out which DC has no chance. The stage seems set for an exciting 2nd half until the thunderstorm came and we were forced to abandon the match...
The future for BB soccer seems uncertain at the moment... and we can certainly see uprising talents in our Sec 1s. I firmly believe we can continue the soccer culture in BB. The only problem we have is finding a suitable football pitch for training and friendlies.
Let's pray and ask God to provide the ideal soccer field.
John 16:24 - "Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete."Greetings! It has been a while since there is a new blog post or tag. Let's revive the 94th BB Blog again! Here are more photos to share on the BBAQ'08 held on 5th, Apr.
