Hi All,
Here are some memories of our last soccer friendly against 84th coy - Unity BB. We lost the match 2-3 but it was a good game of competitive soccer.
Our team was able to match the opponents in the 1st half. We had several scoring chances which we failed to convert. Down the left flank, we were causing panic to the opponents as our midfielders penetrated their defence. However, this time, we did not have luck on our side. The field was wet and muddy and this worked against us as most of our Boys do not have proper boots and our fastest players were not able to maximise their deadly pace or to track back to help out the defence. At half-time, our frustrated players left the field 0-0.
At the start of the 2nd half, Unity started to dominate the midfield and went 3-0 up within 10 mins. It was a nightmare but fortunately, our team was not daunted. Egged on by the fighting spirit of several senior players, the team continue to attack and threaten and we pulled to within 1 goal by the 85th min. Unfortunately, we just couldnt find the final goal to pull level.
There were many lessons learnt from our defeat. Also, there were several promising signs of great things from our players. We certainly can improve and become a dominant force on the field like Liverpool... haha.
We must improve on the following:
1. fitness
ii. unity
iii. tactical awareness
iv. communication
v. better equipment- BOOTS!
Here are the wonderful memories captured.
Our soccer team, relaxed and smiling before the kick-off...

Ahhh... cramp. Leg cramp... apparently, our team has several 'cramp kings'.

Captains of both teams with the referee... Our captain looks glum... hmmm, wonder why?!!

And the goalie kicks the ball into the opponents' half...

Counter... attack down the left flank. Go ROooonaldo...

He rises above all players and send a looping header... Wow. look how he jumps...

And yes, the picture of the day. Sexy, ultra short shorts... wonder where he bought his shorts. All the female supporters were screaming and shrieking at the sidelines... definitely a distraction!
It's the time of the year to study hard and excel in academics. Sec 3, 4s, do give your best in your mid-year with the same passion and perseverance for soccer.
May the Lord Bless you!
